    Cooking with kids & GD

So I came up with a few wonderful successful recipes that I really wanted to share with all the beautiful mums out there struggling to get inventive OR those of you who are time poor (like me the avid multitasker).
These recipes my boys loved, they take max 20mins to make including preparation and are fine for those of us diagnosed with GD!

They also include simple instructions for getting the kids involved & keeping them busy.

SS19 Twinning with your Mini Trends

SS19 Twinning with your Mini Trends

Switching up summer style has always been a challenge, with children as they get older a lot of people express that their child will only wear certain things.

We have all had those times when a child is not eager to get dressed and this can be so stressful for a parent.

Let’s do some shopaholic de-stressing and explore the latest SS19 trends while we’re at it!

A simple way to get your little ones excited about fashion is to do some twinning with the ones you love! But gone are the days of ugly matchups. There are some beautiful styles out there that can bring glamour into your household!

Currently navigating mid-way through Summer can be difficult, especially because there are So many competing trends. I’ve picked a few of our favourites to Twin with some classic Australian Designers and their latest looks!

    Colour Wheel

The first drop of our Velveteen line has finally arrived and is all about riding the colour wave! We are hit with their unique sky blues, blood oranges and this seasons must have colour Yellow! Expect to see this colour continuing to trend on through winter so it is a good idea to invest in some key transitional pieces.

The thing to keep in mind with what we’re deeming the “Colour Wheel” trend is to get the right hues of colour together. We recommend the rule of no more that 3 vibrant colours and one key neutral to keep the look classy- stay away from using too many colours so the look doesn’t become clownish.

    Mirror  Mirror

The second look is all about a 90’s metallic edge “Mirror Mirror” has bright hues of gold, pink, blue and purple in shapes inspired by 90 glam and the sea. This makes for a weird and wonderful aesthetic of waves and puffy silhouettes. Very feminine and adventurous this look is not for the faint hearted!

Definitely save this for the special occasions. Fans of twinning the “Mirror Mirror” style are Beyonce Knowles & Blue Ivy and Kylie Jenner & Stormi just to name a few!

    El Natural

Keep this look as clean and classic as possible, the least amount of patterns the better. This allows you to appreciate the textures of the material.

This look is much more than neutrals, the focus here is choosing a colour and then adding to this with similar hues in varying textures. For example if white is your base colour you could match this with a cream top in linen and a beige Saturn jacket. You can try this look with varying colours as long as you don’t stray from the main base colour you will be safe with this one.

The great thing about this look is that it’s a nice transition for those who have already invested in the LINEN trend from last season and have a few pieces from the SATIN look that is still very much vibing currently. Perfect for the working mums on the go it is an easy transition from work to play.

    Lollipop Look

Our version of Neon incorporates just the right touch of Neon with beautiful sea & circus prints this “Lollipop Look” is a refreshing way of breathing life back into some older pieces already in your wardrobe. If you are bold enough to wear full neon then rock it with your little one by your side in neon print- this way you’re not both competing for the spotlight and compliment each other.

If head to toe neon isn’t your thing, try a softer version of a colour and then accent with neon.

Keep the shape minimalistic and for a very striking look ground the brights with one deep shade such as black, dark purple or navy. This contrast is perfect for photo shoots and the kiddos just love the pops of colour.

    Peachy Keen

Lastly one of our most loved fashion movements for SS19 has got to be “Peachy Keen”. Step into the 1950’s poolside party scenes with resort wear and peach & mint ice teas everywhere.

This scene is where an obsession with peach and mint colours brings us back to. There is something iconic about this timeframe as it made a revival in the 70’s we have taken the best parts of both eras to form this new improved style.

Think soft peach and pinks, creamy whites, lavender and mint.

This feminine chic style is all about Palm Springs with a bit of rock. Look out for high waisted 70’s style flares in this soft colour palette. Ribbed or corduroy material printed cropped tees and stripes.

This silhouette is all about balance, if you’re sporting a shapeless knit or shift then be sure to Team this with a tapered bottom or fitted skirt, similarly if you have a fitted top flared pants or overalls are a must have.

Don’t forget to have fun with this look and accessories with a hint of rose gold or a few fine gold chains at different lengths for an extra feminine vibe.
